1st fib-UAE Engineering Week
The 1st fib-UAE Engineering Week was held in March 2018 in Dubai and was met with great success! The fib-UAE group gave attendees the opportunity to get to know the fib’s work and its objective to bridge Research and Practice by developing and disseminating the latest findings and methods.
The 1st fib-UAE Young Civil Engineer forum took place on 21 March 2018. It provided an opportunity for students and engineers to discuss the way the engineering field will develop in the future as well as to develop their professional network. Speakers included fib-UAE Head of Delegation Mohamad Al-Dah, fib-UAE Deputy Sherif Yehia, Society of Engineers representative Rayed Al Arashi and fib Honorary President György Balázs.
The 1st fib-UAE Women in Civil Engineering Forum took place the following day. It was an opportunity for influential women in the engineering field to meet with civil engineers’ practitioners, young female civil engineers and students, who were able to share their experience, knowledge and discuss challenges facing women in the field of civil engineering. The forum included several presentations given by local and international women engineers as well as open discussions. The speakers included fib member Dr Agnieszka Bigaj-van Vliet and fib President Prof Hugo Corres Peiretti.
